This is an article done by Richard Smith for Guitar Player. On that day he visited Fender Custom Shop, I was drilling an endpin screw hole on all rosewood Tele body (top picture). Inside of the body is routed out, top and back part separately, then glued together with thin piece of maple in the center. Same construction as on GH’s Get Back Tele.
